Holy Wow Cow!
Talk about hektic. The past week or so has been amazing but seriously jammed for me (think riding everyday, hours and hours of homework, and running to the post office to mail out shirts). Last Saturday I helped with another Trek Dirt Series. I just can't say it enough, the coaches are INCREDIBLE. If gasoline was free and I didn't have to work and study I would seriously follow them around for the whole series and sweep, for free. I really love watching women (well anyone really) fall in love with mountain biking :)
Speaking of ladies that love to shred on bikes..... Monday I got the luxury shuttle treatment by Kirstie, an amazing woman I met at Northstar Bike Park last summer. We had so much fun that we didn't take any photos :( (but luckily I've got photographer friends). I had no clue how fun the downhill trails were up there. Thank you Kirstie, you are seriously the best!!
Oh yes, and on top of that, we all got to ride with this great guy: Evan Strong. His bike was out of commission, so we let him swap between our bikes (SC Driver-8, Purpto Nomad & Intense 951). Someone had to drive anyway so it worked out perfectly. So imagine riding new bikes, on new trails with.... one leg. Yes, one leg, and Evan schooled us the whole time with an epic smile on his face. Evan is a big part of Adaptive Action Sports, a non-profit created by Amy Purdy and Daniele Gale. Check the website, it will seriously inspire you and blow your mind.
P.S. Word on the street is that Evan's raw food vegetarian cafe in Nevada City is delicious and amazing. I will definitely be eating there next time I head up that way. Maybe, every time I head that way :)
