Queen of the MTN:: RESULTS!!

This past weekend was truly amazing.  After buzzing around the bay area to pick up last minute sponsor product from hint water and RideSFO, I snatched up the one and only Pat Branch of PBMedia so he could capture the epic weekend that we were about to embark on.  On Saturday I attended the Sweetlines clinic hosted by Kat Sweet.  Kat was so generous that she extended the training session to take up most of the day.  We worked on corning and basics and then went off to hit drops and jumps.  Everyone walked away with new skills and added confidence.  A perfect set up for Sunday's contest!

The contest went down quite smoothly and I saw each and every lady step it up a notch.  We traveled as a group around the Northstar bike park to hit several features which participants had a chance to gain up to 5 points for their performance.  Four features were set in stone; Livewire zone 3 drop, Live wire zone 5 jump 2, the rock wall ride at the top of Little Trees, and the Pinwheel Drops at the bottom of Flameout.  The girls then had to decide on a wild card feature for each category.  The pros decided on the stadium jump at the bottom of Vista and the amateurs picked the hip jump in the last section of Livewire.  A distance contest off the Race for Tara flyaway feature was held to break the ties between 1st & 2nd and 3rd & 4th.  Great job ladies!!
