About
This is the archive of the Shine Riders Co. blog. Much content was lost as we migrated back and forth from Wordpress, Drupal and Blogger from 2008 - 2016. Fortunately, these posts atleast remain. I’ll continue to do what I can to recreate the magic as we lost results from Shine SendHER, lots of photos, words and videos, and most of all content recognizing the many women who made up our collective community of rad female gravity mountain bikers. If you’ve been wondering how and where I’ve been, worry not for I am Still Peaking.

About:
Shine's mission is to inspire new riders and progress womens gravity mountain biking. We publish stories to show the world what woman can do on bikes and we host events to grow our community and provide opportunities to progress.
Through skills instruction we aim to increase riders confidence and control while riding, and therefore increase fun and safety levels. Additionally, our skills clinics enable riders to obtain proper bike set-up for maximum riding enjoyment, meet other riders, and learn of new trails. Please check often for the addition of clinics and feel free to send an email to set-up your own clinic. We will travel to teach!
Instructor:
Lindsay Beth Currier has been riding mountain bikes for over 15 years. She has guided mountain bike rides formally since 2008 and recently received her IMIC certification to provide professional instruction. Lindsay's focus is on progression while actively working to push past fears in a safe and fun manner. Lindsay currently offers skills clinics and guided rides in CA, NV, UT, CO, NM & AZ and will travel to ride!
Coaches we work with and highly recommend:

Girl Bike Love
provides "personal experiences, technical information and gear reviews
with a focus on what women want" on all area women's cycling.
Based in the UK, GirlMTNbiker
was set up as a central hub of information for female mountain bikers.
The site is a place to read and share opinions and knowledge on
everything mountain biking (bikes, trails, events, etc.)Muddbunnies was founded by Ryan Petersen in 2005 after an unsuccessful search for a women’s biking group. What began as a simple Yahoo group has evolved into a riding community, race team, and informational media outlet.
The Freeride Foundation is currently not being updated, but has an amazing archive of featured female riders, events coverage, videos, and much more information.
Updated from 2008 - 2010, the founder explains: "I’m sick of searching around, looking for womens’ riding stuff. The scene is so dominated by guys, and women differ greatly in both their approach to and appreciation for the sport." - Martha Hucker
